Sarlat

Sarlat-la-Canéda is a must-see, just 15 minutes from La Roque-Gageac.

Sarlat is renowned for its exceptional, perfectly preserved medieval and Renaissance historic center. It’s a veritable open-air museum where you can happily lose yourself in a maze of cobbled streets, lively squares, and secret passages.

You can admire superb private mansions and the iconic Lantern of the Dead. The town is also the gastronomic capital of the Périgord region, where you can sample foie gras, truffles, and other specialties at the colorful markets, especially the Saturday market, famous throughout the region.
